This fair trade Gambibgo pot basket is striking and durable. It is bulb-shaped with an open top, and a single flexible goatskin handle. This beautiful African basket is approximately 12" in diameter at the bottom, narrowing to 11" at the top. It is approximately 12" deep, not including the handle. It comes with a hang tag with information about fair trade Bolga baskets as care instructions. It is equally happy functioning as a tote or storing newspapers, magazines, yarn, and other household items.

The price shown is for an individual basket. We will ship the exact basket that you see in the image. As it is a unique item, only one is available.

To clean or re-shape your Bolga basket, simply wet it with cool water, clean and shape it as needed (use mild soap only and avoid wetting the leather), and allow it to air dry. You should wet the basket about once a year to hydrate the straw and keep it supple.

Gambibgo pot baskets are crafted in the Gambibgo community, near Bolgatanga in Ghana. They are woven from abundant local elephant grass, and the handles are made from goat skin. All our Bolga baskets are purchased using fair trade practices.
