Our Bolga flower basket is well constructed, attractive, and useful. It's perfect for carrying flowers or produce, and also makes a nice gift basket or Easter basket. This fair trade Ghana basket is approximately 5 1/2" tall, excluding the handle, and 13 1/2" in diameter at the top. It has a flared top and a single leather handle.
The price shown is for an individual basket. Only one is available.
All of our Bolga baskets are handwoven in the Bolgatanga region of Northern Ghana in West Africa, and purchased using fair trade practices. When you purchase one, you receive a beautiful and practical item while helping a family in Ghana raise their standard of living. Bolga baskets are among the best-known African baskets because of their durability and beauty. Because they are made from sustainable grass, goat skin, and natural dyes, they are environmentally friendly products. To clean or re-shape one, simply wet it with cool water, shape or clean as needed (using mild soap only), and allow it to air dry.
About the brand: African Market Baskets is a small business located in Boulder, Colorado that works closely with weavers to ensure fair conditions and wages, as well as high quality products. It is a member of the Fair Trade Federation and Green America, and donates 10% of its profits to Every Basket Helps, a non-profit working to alleviate poverty in northern Ghana.
