This large oval Bolga basket has two goat skin handles and makes a great tote, picnic basket, or magazine holder. Keep one in your car as a catch-all for mail, water bottles, and the like. It is a handmade and sustainable product from upper Ghana, where the Frafra people have woven beautiful baskets for generations. This fair trade African basket is approximately 18" long, 9" wide, and 10 1/2" deep.
The price shown is for a single basket. We will ship the exact one seen in the image. Only one is available.
To clean or re-shape a Bolga basket, soak it in cool water, clean and/or shape it as needed (use mild soap only and avoid wetting the leather), and allow it to air dry. You should wet the basket about once a year to hydrate the straw and keep it supple.
