This Zulu telephone wire basket combines traditional Zulu basket weaving skills with modern materials. Achieving the incredibly tight weave requires great hand and forearm strength, so these baskets are more often woven by men than women. This basket combines colored plastic coated wires in shades of silver, sand and cream with bare copper wire to form a simple spiral pattern. It is approximately 2 1/2 inches deep and 6 1/2 inches square, with rigid walls and rounded corners. We think it's a great size and shape for storing tea bags or stashing keys and a smart phone on your kitchen counter. This beautiful basket is a fair trade product from South Africa. Use warm, soapy water to clean.
