One of the realities of sourcing fair trade, handmade, small batch products is that we often run into supply issues. We're always trying to improve our supply chain to minimize shortages, but they still occur. One such shortage occurred this spring with our West African Sun Hats. We just received a big shipment this afternoon and already have many of them processed and listed online. More will be added in the coming days. For those of you on our waiting list for specific styles, we'll contact you tomorrow. If you are interested in a natural colored hat, buy it now - they go quickly and we received very few in this batch. Locals, you can find a good selection at our stores on Bainbridge Island, WA and Port Gamble, WA. To those who have been patiently waiting, thank you for sticking with us!
Please remember there is only one of each hat. We appreciate your enthusiasm in trying to add multiples to your shopping cart, but each hat listed truly is one of a kind.
All of these hats have braided leather chin straps that can easily be removed without damaging the hat. We recommend that you wet your hat in cool water prior to wearing it for the first time, fit it over your head, then remove it to let it dry. This will help it conform to the shape of your head. If your hat doesn't fit or you are otherwise not happy with it, let us know and we'll email you a return label so it can be refunded or exchanged.
Our African straw hats are imported by African Market Baskets, a longstanding member of the Fair Trade Federation.
