This pine needle basket is a fair trade product from the Xeabaj Cooperative, a Mayan weaving group in Guatemala. It is as fragrant as it is beautiful, and is sturdy enough for daily use. Handwoven from pine needles and raffia, it is round with a wavy rim. The bowl section is about 9" in diameter and 3" deep, with the decorative rim extending the total diameter to about 11". It's perfect for holding bread or fruit, although you may just want to admire it! Because each basket is handmade, the one you receive may vary slightly from the one in the image, although it will be very similar. It includes an information card with the name of the weaver on it.
